The Solar Echoes universe is expanding, but this time, you aren’t the hero.

Corefun Studios has officially announced its latest project, Solar Echoes: Star Fated, a top-down 2D open-world Action-RPG that takes the established sci-fi lore in a darker, more dangerous direction. Unlike previous entries in the franchise, Star Fated puts players in the cockpit of a ship commanded by Asteron, a ruthless criminal and one of the most feared figures in the galaxy.

A Galaxy Against You

In Star Fated, you aren’t just fighting for glory; you’re fighting for survival. After a high-stakes heist, Asteron is on the run with a stolen alien artefact and a target on his back. You’ll navigate a free-roaming galaxy while being hunted by:

The Union Guard: The law of the stars.

The Black Stars: A powerful and vengeful crime syndicate.

Bounty Hunters & Pirates: Looking to cash in on the price for your head.

The stakes are high inside the ship, too. Asteron’s crew of six aliens were hired under false pretences and are now effectively trapped, held in check by fear and a lethal artefact. The developer describes the crew’s evolution from fear to potential resistance as the “emotional core” of the game.

Massive Customisation: Upgrade your starship with over 750 equipment items, ranging from advanced shields to devastating weaponry.

Consequence-Driven World: The universe reacts to your villainy. Raid a supply ship, and you’ll see those goods vanish from local stations. News broadcasts will even track your crimes across star systems.

Tactical Ship Combat: Real-time, top-down combat where skill is just as important as your ship’s build.

Fully Voice-Acted Story: A character-driven narrative where your choices determine who you betray—and who betrays you.

From Tabletop to PC

Corefun Studios has spent over a decade building the Solar Echoes brand, starting with the original tabletop RPG and expanding into novels and the visual novel The Star Legation.

Availability
