Amazon 44bn euros in sales! Tax paid zero!

It is that time of year when we have to take the time to sit down and fill out the tax return, it is just one of those things that being in business has to be done. Yet according to some reports, it seems that while online shopping was booming last year, some businesses have managed to end up with no tax to pay.

Amazon in Europe reported sales in the region of 44bn euros and yet the bottom line is that the company has paid no tax. Of course, we know that there is a difference between sales and profits, in this the company post record sales for 2020, however, the company has actually posted a loss of around 1.2bn euros, hence no tax.
