Retail sales in the UK jump by 5.4%

If there is one thing that a lot of people have been waiting for it has to be going to the shops. Sure supermarkets have been open and it has to be said that they have been keeping us going throughout the pandemic.

So when the government announced that non-essential retailers could reopen, there was a moment when many experts wondered if the shoppers would return to the high streets and shopping malls.

Well as they say this is history and the figures prove it since reopening sales have soared by a massive 5.4% this represents growth not seen since 2013 and is an indication that the UK economy is ready to bounce back with a vengeance.
