Postcard-perfect beaches, glowing neon nights… and millions of hungry zombies. Welcome to Florida.
Saber Interactive has officially unleashed details on Viral State — the massive new update for World War Z that whisks the globe-spanning zombie apocalypse straight into the Sunshine State. It lands November 12, 2026 across PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (Steam & Epic Games Store), blending paid premium content with free upgrades for every player.
Paradise Lost — The Florida Episode
Neon lights, rays of sunshine, palm trees swaying beside golden beaches — Miami and Key West look like the ultimate getaway. But the crowds aren’t partying anymore. They’re swarming.
The headline attraction is the premium Florida Episode DLC ($9.99), a brand-new campaign across three sprawling maps set in iconic vacation destinations:
- Miami — neon-lit avenues and waterfront promenades overrun by hordes
- Key West — tropical islands and coastal roads turned death traps
- Theme Parks & Landmarks — Florida’s most famous attractions, now choked with the infected
You’ll fight through sun-drenched boulevards, pastel-coloured districts, and palm-lined promenades where every bright vista hides a teeming tide of Zekes. The contrast is deliberate — paradise makes the apocalypse hit harder.
Four New Survivors
Step into the Sunshine State with four distinct, fully voiced heroes:
- Val — quick-thinking and sharp-shooting
- Caesar — tough, experienced, and unshakable
- Moe — scrappy, resourceful, and dangerously clever
- Chris — steady, reliable, and ready for anything
Each brings unique backgrounds and personality to the fight, with custom perks and progression to unlock.
Free for Everyone — New Weapons & Daily Challenges
You don’t need to buy the DLC to get stronger. Viral State packs serious free upgrades:
- Microgun — a devastating new heavy weapon that tears through hordes
- Dual Kama — lightning-fast melee blades for slicing through close-quarters threats
- Daily Challenge Overhaul — fresh timer system, reroll options, improved UI, and the ability to pin preferred challenges
- Quality-of-life polish across menus, matchmaking, and performance
Premium Cosmetics — Vacation Heat
Want to look good while saving the world? The Vacation Heat Character Skins Pack ($4.99) dresses survivors Hiroiji, Eloise, Angel, and Marine in Florida-ready style — perfect for surviving the apocalypse in tropical fashion.

Grab your sunscreen, load your Microgun, and remember — in Florida, the zombies come in waves.
