Saint Slayer: Spear is coming to PC and consoles April 20th

Prepare your holy water and sharpen your steel—the hunt is about to begin.

Lillymo Games has officially announced that Saint Slayer: Spear of Sacrilege will be launching on Monday, April 20th, 2026. This retro-inspired, blood-soaked action-platformer is coming to PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and the upcoming Switch 2.

    The Holy War Begins

Set against the dark backdrop of late-17th-century Europe, you play as Rudiger, an ex-soldier forced out of retirement to save the Holy Roman Empire. Your target? The corrupt Father Pacer, a priest who has unleashed a demonic uprising to cement his own power.

Equipped with the titular Spear of Sacrilege, you’ll navigate a world filled with crunchy pixelated gore and a haunting gothic atmosphere that feels like a long-lost NES classic.

    Key Gameplay Features:

    • Classic Challenge: Heavily inspired by the original Castlevania, featuring locked jump arcs, stiff movement, and deliberate, tactical combat.
    • Massive Scope: Fight your way through 21 handcrafted stages and face down 7 monstrous bosses.
    • Co-Op Chaos: Play the entire campaign in 2-player local co-op. Be careful, though—friendly fire is active, making your spear just as dangerous to your partner as it is to the demons.
    • Upgrades & Secrets: Unlock animal familiars, new abilities, and power-ups to help you survive.
    • Player Choice: Your actions matter. Help or hurt those you encounter to influence the story and reach multiple endings.

    From the Minds of Lillymo

Developed by Barry Johnson and written by Colin Moriarty (known for Sacred Symbols and Twin Breaker), Saint Slayer is a love letter to the 8-bit era. It combines the punishing difficulty of the past with modern refinements like adjustable difficulty and accessibility options.

“I specifically wanted to make a game that felt like Castlevania (1)… the stiffness and restriction allow us to lock into a gameplay experience that we don’t see as often anymore.” — Barry Johnson, Lead Developer

  • In the ever-shifting landscape of the survival horror genre, few names carry the weight of Resident Evil

In the ever-shifting landscape of the survival horror genre, few names carry the weight of Resident Evil

For nearly 30 years, Capcom’s flagship franchise has reinvented itself—from the fixed-camera puzzles of the 90s to the action-heavy blockbusters of the 2000s, and the visceral first-person dread of the modern era.

Now, with the release of Resident Evil Requiem (officially launching February 27, 2026), we aren’t just getting another sequel. We are entering a new era that aims to reconcile the franchise’s divided soul.

    A Tale of Two Protagonists

Directed by Koshi Nakanishi—the mastermind behind the terrifying Resident Evil 7: Biohazard—Requiem introduces a dual-protagonist system designed to satisfy both purists and action junkies.

    • Grace Ashcroft: A new face in the series and an FBI intelligence analyst. As the daughter of Resident Evil Outbreak survivor Alyssa Ashcroft, Grace brings a vulnerable, investigative perspective. Her gameplay focuses on stealth, limited resources, and psychological horror.
    • Leon S. Kennedy: The legendary DSO agent returns, but he isn’t the invincible action hero we saw in RE4. Returning to a ruined, post-missile strike Raccoon City, Leon is battling a new viral strain and, more disturbingly, his own deteriorating physical state. His sections lean into exhilarating action and tactical combat.

Technical Innovation: The RE Engine Evolved

Built exclusively for ninth-generation consoles and high-end PCs, Requiem pushes the RE Engine to its breaking point.

    • Perspective Freedom: For the first time, players can toggle between First-Person and Third-Person perspectives at any time, allowing you to tailor the level of intimacy (or distance) you want from the horrors.
    • Advanced Fidelity: On PC and PS5 Pro, the game features path-traced lighting and a revolutionary hair-strand system that reacts realistically to environmental movement.
    • Smart Zombies: Enemies in Requiem are no longer mindless drones. Their human “personalities” influence their behaviour—some may ignore you to feast on corpses, while others will actively manipulate the environment, like turning off lights to hunt you in the dark.

Returning to Where it All Began

The setting is a “Requiem” for the series’ history. The game takes us back to the Midwest and the scarred remains of Raccoon City, 30 years after its destruction. Fans can expect to revisit iconic locations like the R.P.D. station, now a hollowed-out tomb of secrets.

The narrative also promises to bridge the gap between the original Umbrella incident and the modern bio-threats, featuring rumoured appearances from legacy characters like Sherry Birkin and clues pointing toward the “Raccoon City Syndrome”—a lingering curse affecting the survivors of the 1998 outbreak.

  • Steel Century Groove is out now on Steam

Steel Century Groove is out now on Steam

The wait for the most unexpected genre mashup of the year is over! Developed by Sloth Gloss Games, Steel Century Groove has officially moonwalked its way onto Steam.

Thousands of years ago, humanity built colossal war machines to stop the apocalypse. Today? Those same machines are used for the ultimate high-stakes prize: dance-battle championships.

    Key Features

    • Deep Rhythm Combat: Unlike traditional rhythm games that force a specific button for every note, Steel Century Groove lets you choose from your mech’s unique kit of battle abilities.
    • Custom Soundtracks: While the game features a bumping original soundtrack, you can import your own MP3s. The system analyses your tracks to generate custom rhythm patterns for any genre.
    • RPG Progression: Assemble a squad of “Tenzerks” (giant mechs), level them up, and equip various mods to change their playstyle.
    • Vibrant World: Explore a “post-post-apocalyptic” world featuring locations like the underwater ruins of San Francisco and neon-lit casino districts.

    The “Midnight” Prologue

If you want to try before you buy, the developer previously released Steel Century Groove: Midnight, a free standalone mini-adventure that serves as a prologue. It’s a great way to get a feel for the “snaking” note-ribbon mechanics and the game’s quirky, witty writing.

  • Solasta: Crown of the Magister II – Early Access Impressions

Solasta: Crown of the Magister II – Early Access Impressions

The world of Solasta is expanding, and with Solasta: Crown of the Magister II now in Early Access, fans of tactical turn-based RPGs have a lot to be excited about. As a spiritual successor that builds upon the solid foundation of its predecessor, Solasta II promises deeper mechanics, a more expansive world, and even more challenging encounters. Let’s dive into what makes this Early Access release worth checking out.

    What’s New and Improved?

Right off the bat, players will notice a significant evolution in both presentation and gameplay. The developers have clearly listened to community feedback, and it shows in several key areas:

    Enhanced Graphics and Environments

While Solasta: Crown of the Magister was praised for its tactical depth, some found its visual presentation a little rough around the edges. Solasta II makes noticeable strides here. Environments feel richer, character models are more detailed, and the spell effects are even more dazzling. Exploring ancient ruins or traversing the wilds of the Badlands feels more immersive than ever.
