    Solo indie developer Kaeru Takeda has officially pulled back the curtain on their latest project, Meowpire. The game’s Steam store page is now live, giving players their first look at a unique genre mashup: a “spectator simulation x clicker” where cats wage war for continental supremacy.

    If you’ve ever wanted to play god to a civilisation of territorial tabbies, this is the title you’ve been waiting for.

    A God Game for the Multi-Tasker

    Meowpire isn’t your typical micro-management RTS. Instead, it positions the player as a celestial observer. You watch from above as various cat clans navigate diplomacy, treachery, and all-out war.

    The game is specifically designed to be “passive-friendly.” According to Takeda, it’s the perfect secondary-monitor companion—something you can leave running while you work, occasionally leaning in to influence the tide of history.

    Divine Intervention: Use “Faith Points” earned through clicking (prayer) to unleash powers.

    Blessing vs. Destruction: You can be a benevolent deity summoning heroes and granting blessings, or a vengeful one triggering earthquakes, plagues, and meteors.

    Political Sabotage: Don’t like an alliance? Use your powers to force a ceasefire, spark a revolution, or cause a sudden betrayal.

    World Building: Includes a built-in Map Editor where you can paint terrain and place cat factions manually.
