The Snake Game Evolved! Mechaconda Slithers Onto All Major Platforms Today

Get ready to turn your classic nostalgia into high-octane mechanical mayhem! Publisher QUByte Interactive and Brazilian solo developer Nato Games have officially released their frantic arcade bullet-hell title, Mechaconda, available RIGHT NOW across PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch!

If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if the legendary “eat-and-grow” mobile classic Snake was fused with a chaotic 2D arena shooter like Brotato, Mechaconda is your answer.

    What is Mechaconda?

In Mechaconda, players pilot a high-tech robotic combat serpent on an explosive mission to destroy the evil forces of Dr. EVIL.

Unlike retro arcade classics where growing larger only meant avoiding your own tail, Mechaconda turns your length into pure firepower:

    • Real-Time Body Customisation: As you clear waves and collect energy cores, you’ll draw from 30+ unique skill cards to attach weaponry and utility modules—such as auto-cannons, plasma lasers, and defensive energy shields—directly onto individual segments of your mechanical body.
    • High Risk vs. High Reward: The longer your mechanical snake grows, the more firepower you unleash. However, a larger body also makes you a significantly bigger target for intense enemy projectiles and lethal environmental traps!
    • Diverse Playstyles: With over 10+ unlockable serpent heads and modular upgrades, no two runs feel the same. Build a fast, nimble strike unit or transform into a massive, heavily armoured walking fortress.

Modes for Every Type of Gamer

Whether you want a casual campaign or a punishing test of twitch reflexes, Mechaconda packs three distinct game modes right out of the box:

    1. Campaign Mode: Blast through handcrafted levels, defeat hordes of alien monsters, and track down Dr. EVIL.
    2. Roguelike Mode: Tackle randomised item drops and adapt your tail configuration on the fly for maximum replayability.
    3. Boss Rush Mode: Skip the minions and test your loadouts back-to-back against massive multi-phase bosses.

Launch Week Special: Grab It at a Discount!

Mechaconda is priced at $7.99 USD, but early birds get an even better deal. To celebrate the global launch, players can take advantage of a 15% launch discount across digital storefronts during its first week.

  • When Perspective Defines Reality: Veteran Developers Unveil Neon-Noir Mystery ‘The Eventide’

When Perspective Defines Reality: Veteran Developers Unveil Neon-Noir Mystery ‘The Eventide’

If you’re a fan of rich, narrative-driven mysteries, atmospheric worlds, and deep detective mechanics, put this on your radar immediately. Studio Reset, a newly formed independent game development studio created by industry veterans Kaelin Lavallee, Kris Schoneberg, and Francis Lacuna, has officially revealed its debut title: The Eventide.

Currently in early development for PC via Steam, The Eventide is a single-player, supernatural mystery adventure set in a stylised, neon-noir Canadian cityscape. Drawing on the team’s impressive background—with experience spanning acclaimed studios like BioWare, Hinterland, Inflexion Games, and Timbre Games—Studio Reset is setting out to reinvent how we approach virtual detective work.

    Welcome to The Eventide Agency

In The Eventide, players take on the role of the unseen hand orchestrating operations at The Eventide Agency—a covert organisation dedicated to monitoring, studying, and intervening in otherworldly incidents that the public never notices.

Adjacent planes of existence are bleeding into the city. From rain-slicked alleys and dusty archives to eerie, defunct radio stations and haunted apartment blocks, a growing backlog of unexplained cases needs solving. But this isn’t your average “find the glowing object” detective game. In The Eventide, the most critical choice you make happens before you even set foot at the crime scene.

    The Twist: “Parallax Deduction”

What makes The Eventide stand out in the crowded mystery genre is its core mechanic: Parallax Deduction.

Every investigation begins with a crucial choice: Which two agents should be sent to the scene?

Every agent in your evolving roster sees the world differently—and that perspective alters reality. The clues you gather, the conversations you trigger, and the details you notice depend entirely on who you assign:

    • Evelyn “Eve” Atwood (The Cryptozoologist): Methodical and grounded, Eve analyses scenes through science, biology, and physical evidence.
    • Sam “Brass” Hingle (The Former Detective): Pragmatic and sharp, Brass specialises in reading people, deciphering motives, and catching human contradictions.
    • Kira (The [REDACTED]): Quiet and sensitive, Kira can perceive latent psychic and emotional energies lingering in a room.

Other agents bring arcane knowledge, advanced technical gear, or the ability to peer directly into ethereal planes. Because no two agents see a crime scene through the same lens, solving a case isn’t about trial-and-error guesswork—it’s about matching perspectives to synthesise the full picture.

“We see the world as we need to; not as it is,” explains Kaelin Lavallee, Producer and Creative Director at Studio Reset. “With The Eventide, we wanted to build a mystery game where solving a case is not just about finding clues. It is about experiencing the cases through the characters’ perspective to understand what those clues mean.”

Paperwork, Redacted Truths, and Branching Logic

Once your field agents collect their evidence, it’s up to you to piece the fragments together back at the office. Using a word-based, mad-lib-style deduction system, you’ll fill in the missing gaps of redacted case reports.

Be careful, though: evidence can often be interpreted in more than one way. Different conclusions can lead to different truths, opening up new cases, locations, and overarching conspiracy threads across a non-linear campaign structure.

Built on Experience and Unreal Engine 5

Powered by Unreal Engine 5, The Eventide combines fixed-camera 3D exploration with mature narrative themes including loss, trauma, and folklore. The game promises a unique blend of The X-Files paranormal investigation, The Case of the Golden Idol styled deduction puzzles, and a striking neon-noir aesthetic.

With a veteran development team behind the wheel, The Eventide is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing indie projects on the horizon.

    How to Stay Updated

The Eventide is currently in early development for PC. You can support Studio Reset by heading over to Steam today to wishlist the game and check out the debut announcement teaser trailer!

‘Terra Nil’ Designer’s Next Big Strategy Hit: ‘Combolands’ Set to Launch This August

If you’re a fan of fast-paced strategy, bite-sized deckbuilders, and smart city-building games, mark your calendars: Crux Games has officially announced that Combolands: Roguelike Citybuilder will launch on PC via Steam on August 24, 2026.

Crux Games is an independent two-person studio based in South Africa, formed by Skye Scott and Sam Alfred—the celebrated lead designer behind the BAFTA-nominated indie hit Terra Nil. Created with support from publisher Landfall (Content Warning, HASTE, Peak), Combolands expands on the concepts of their popular Itch.io prototype, Tiny Towns, which racked up over 100,000 views.

Here is everything you need to know about one of this summer’s most promising indie titles.

    What is Combolands?

Combolands blends the tactical spatial placement of citybuilders with the high replayability and synergy-chasing loops of roguelike deckbuilders.

Instead of sitting through hours-long city management simulations, players build sprawling, interconnected metropolises in short, punchy 30-minute sessions. Every run takes place on procedurally generated islands, ensuring that no two maps—or strategy runs—are ever identical.

    Key Game Features & Mechanics

    • Stack Cascading Combos: In Combolands, building placement matters. Players place structures to trigger chain reactions, score massive bonuses, and unlock game-breaking synergies that maximise city growth.
    • Deep Guild System: The game features 7 distinct guilds, each equipped with unique buildings and strategic strengths. By selecting 2 guilds per run, players can experiment across 21 unique guild combinations to craft tailored playstyles.
    • Massive Variety: Build with over 120 distinct building types, collect 100+ passive heirlooms/relics, recruit from 13+ specialised city councillors, and utilise potions to alter map conditions on the fly.
    • Bite-Sized Strategic Depth: Master 10 escalating difficulty ranks that challenge your ability to adapt, experiment, and optimise every square tile.

    Free Demo Available Now

Can’t wait until launch day? Crux Games has released a free playable demo on Steam ahead of the official release, letting players test out its high-synergy mechanics today.

  • Clock In or Die Trying: ‘Hellbound Inc.’ Brings Corporate Chaos to Steam on August 11

Clock In or Die Trying: ‘Hellbound Inc.’ Brings Corporate Chaos to Steam on August 11

If you thought your daily 9-to-5 was soul-crushing, wait until you see what Satan has planned for the afterlife.

Independent game studios Templo and Rewilder have officially announced their debut collaborative title: Hellbound Inc., a darkly comedic rage-platformer set in a nightmarish corporate fulfilment centre. The game is scheduled to launch on Steam on August 11, 2026, promising a fast-paced blend of precision platforming, devious delivery puzzles, and workplace satire.

Welcome to the Afterlife: You’re Undead, But You’re Still Not Off the Clock

In Hellbound Inc., players step into the worn shoes of an undead courier trapped in a massive logistics fulfilment centre recently acquired by Satan himself. The objective? Deliver cursed packages across treacherous warehouse zones, dodge fire-spewing conveyor belts, outsmart toxic HR policies, and ensure every package meets its impossible delivery quota.

Loose controls won’t save you here—missing a deadline in the underworld means eternal damnation. Again.

    Key Features to Expect:

    • 8 Circles of Corporate Hell: Loosely inspired by Dante Alighieri’s The Divine Comedy, travel through eight distinct corporate departments—from the red tape of HR to the bottomless pit of Accounting.
    • Brutal Precision Platforming: Master 47 handcrafted levels (6 orientation tutorials and 41 escalating puzzle-platforming rooms) where pixel-perfect timing and package carrying are required.
    • Instant Respawns: Death is an everyday occurrence when you’re already dead. Instant respawns keep the game flowing as players learn, retry, and conquer complex delivery routes.
    • The Corporate Audit: Find hidden collectables tucked away in the most lethal corners of the facility.
    • A Hellish Original Soundtrack: High-energy themes tailored to keep you marching through the flames across every department.

    A Powerhouse Creative Team

While Hellbound Inc. marks the first release for Templo and Rewilder as a collective, the team behind it is far from green. The international collaboration brings together seasoned industry veterans spanning game design, animation, and film:

    • Pradip Romay (Studio Lead): Cannes Gold Lion winner leading the creative vision.
    • Antonio “Fayer” Uribe: Industry veteran known for titles like Arco and Pancito Merge.
    • Abe Morales: Former Game Director at HyperBeard and creator behind Frogue and Doki Duck Farm.

“I’m excited for players to discover that moment when frustration turns into mastery,” shared Studio Lead Pradip Romay. “The first time you overcome an obstacle that seemed impossible is incredibly satisfying, and that’s really the emotional core of the game.”

Humanity’s Last Stand Gets Bigger: Terra Invicta – Dark Skies Expansion Launches Today!

Grand-strategy enthusiasts and geopolitical masterminds, take note! Publisher Hooded Horse and developer Pavonis Interactive have officially released the first-ever expansion for their acclaimed alien-invasion grand-strategy game. Terra Invicta – Dark Skies is available now across Steam, GOG, the Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store.

If you thought managing Earth’s nations while quietly colonising the Solar System was a massive undertaking, Dark Skies shakes up the battlefield with fresh scenarios, deeper tactical choices, and unique visual options.

What is Terra Invicta – Dark Skies?

Terra Invicta pits players against an impending extraterrestrial threat, tasking them with uniting—or subjugating—Earth’s nations and establishing humanity’s presence across the Solar System.

The Dark Skies expansion pushes the limits of the original game, challenging commanders to navigate two wildly distinct alternate timelines alongside real-world diplomatic fallout and post-apocalyptic survival:

    1. The 2003 Scenario: Earth in Turmoil

Rewind the clock to 2003 on the eve of the US-led invasion of Iraq. In this scenario, global powers are caught in intense diplomatic friction, and space infrastructure is far less developed. You must navigate a longer, slower fight on Earth, researching new technologies and rooting out alien influence moving in the shadows—long before the war ever reaches the stars.

    2. The “Broken Earth” Scenario: Post-Apocalyptic Fallout

What if the Cuban Missile Crisis spiralled into full-scale nuclear war in 1962? Step into a world shattered by atomic fire a century prior. Humanity is divided into new nations born from the ashes of former superpowers. As you claw your way back toward stability on a ruined planet, you must prepare an already-weakened Earth for the inevitable arrival of the extraterrestrial threat.

    3. New Visual Ship Sets

Personalise your fleet with two brand-new aesthetic designs: a sleek NASA-inspired visual set and a rugged industrial hard sci-fi aesthetic, adding even more flavour to your customised warships as you fight for control of the Solar System.

    Where to Play

Whether you prefer Steam, GOG, the Epic Games Store, or the Microsoft Store, Terra Invicta – Dark Skies is ready to download today.

Are you ready to test your diplomatic, tactical, and industrial prowess under the darkest skies humanity has ever seen? Grab the DLC, pick your faction, and defend the planet!

  • Slither in Six Dimensions: Indie Hit ‘Oro Cauda’ Flips the Snake Formula on Steam

Slither in Six Dimensions: Indie Hit ‘Oro Cauda’ Flips the Snake Formula on Steam

The classic game of Snake is getting a massive, mind-bending upgrade, and it’s safe to say we aren’t in 1999 anymore.

Solo indie developer Luke March, operating under the studio banner Meltersoft, has officially launched the Steam page for his upcoming title, Oro Cauda. If you thought navigating a pixelated screen without hitting your own tail was stressful, wait until you try doing it in 3D.

    What is Oro Cauda?

Oro Cauda reimagines the nostalgic Snake arcade formula as a turn-based puzzle game. The catch? Instead of sliding around a flat, 2D grid, players must navigate all six faces of a cube-shaped world.

In this game, gravity is a suggestion, and the boundaries are limitless. You’ll find yourself slithering seamlessly across:

    • Floors
    • Walls
    • Ceilings

Because it’s turn-based, you won’t need lightning-fast reflexes. Instead, Oro Cauda demands spatial awareness and strategic thinking. Every move requires you to calculate how your growing tail will wrap around the three-dimensional geometry of the cube, turning a simple childhood pastime into a brilliant, brain-melting tactical challenge.

Why the name? “Oro Cauda” seems to draw inspiration from the Ouroboros—the ancient symbol of a serpent eating its own tail. It’s a fittingly clever nod to the core mechanic we all know and fear.

Support Solo Indie Devs: Wishlist Now

As a solo project by Luke March, Oro Cauda represents the exact kind of fresh, mechanical innovation that thrives in the indie game scene. Taking a foundational gaming concept and literally turning it on its head is no small feat for a single developer.

The game is now officially available to wishlist on Steam. Adding it to your wishlist is one of the best ways to support Meltersoft and help the game gain visibility ahead of its launch.

Head over to Steam, check out the mind-bending trailer, and get ready to see just how tangled you can get.

  • One Shot Too Many? Drunken Goddess Reflux Staggers Onto Steam in 2026

One Shot Too Many? Drunken Goddess Reflux Staggers Onto Steam in 2026

If you thought Russian Roulette was stressful with a revolver, wait until you try it with a shot glass and a yandere demon. Announced during INDIE Live Expo 2026, the latest fever dream from publisher Alliance Arts and developer WHO YOU is officially titled Drunken Goddess Reflux.

This “tipsy roguelike survival” game is slated to hit PC via Steam later this year, and it’s already looking like the weirdest night out you’ll ever have from the safety of your desk.

    The Premise: Drink or Die

In Drunken Goddess Reflux, you aren’t fighting dragons or space marines. Instead, you’re locked in a high-stakes drinking duel with an obsessive, alcoholic demon who loves you just enough to want to kill you. The goal? Outdrink her. The catch? The more you imbibe, the more reality (and the game’s UI) starts to fall apart.

    Gameplay: Strategic Inebriation

This isn’t just a “click to drink” simulator. It’s a tactical survival experience where alcohol levels act as your primary resource—and your greatest threat.

    • Shot Glass Roulette: You’ll face off against the goddess, picking from three glasses of unknown strength. One might be water; the other might be pure hellfire.
    • Trick Cards: As you survive rounds, you’ll earn cards to help you cheat the system, swap glasses, or mitigate the effects of the booze.
    • The “Reflux” Mechanic: Staying sober isn’t an option, but getting too drunk leads to disaster. You’ll have to find gruesome ways to stay alert—the developers even mentioned using icepicks to stave off lowered inhibitions through pain.
    • Breaking the Rules: As the demon gets drunker, she loses track of the rules. This is your chance to pull fast ones, swap drinks, and manipulate the board while her head is spinning.

    A Pedigree of Chaos

If the art style looks familiar, that’s because the team behind this is the same one that brought us the cult-hit Yunyun Syndrome!? Rhythm Psychosis. They are leaning heavily into that signature “psychological tension meets dark humour” vibe.

To round out the aesthetic, the game features a theme song titled “DEMON’S SHOT,” composed by Aiobahn with lyrics and vocals by DEMONDICE—setting a high-energy, chaotic tone for your life-or-death pub crawl.

Bottom Line: Drunken Goddess Reflux looks to be a standout for fans of Buckshot Roulette who want a bit more “anime-induced anxiety” and roguelike progression in their gambling games.

Drunken Goddess Reflux is currently available to wishlist on Steam, with a full release expected in 2026. Just remember: please game responsibly.

Are you the type to play it safe with the cards, or are you going to try and drink the goddess under the table on pure luck?
