XD Games is officially charging up the virtual city of Etheria today. The highly anticipated Season SS4, titled “Loong’s Thunder: Shattered Dawn,” has officially launched, bringing a storm of new content, characters, and a massive overhaul to the game’s progression systems.
Players have plenty of time to climb the ranks and master the new mechanics, as the season is scheduled to run from today through June 10, 2026.
A New Era of Power: Tactical Imprints
The headline feature of SS4 is the introduction of the Tactical Imprint system. This brand-new progression path allows Hyper-Linkers to significantly boost their Animus’ combat capabilities.
- Customizable Slots: Each Tactical Imprint features passive traits and four fixed sockets.
- Component Slotting: Players can insert new “Components” into these sockets to fine-tune offensive, defensive, and vitality stats.
- Shareable Tech: These imprints aren’t locked to a single unit; they can be shared across different Animuses and saved within gear presets for maximum tactical flexibility.
The Hyper Kernel: Your Automated Factory
To fuel these new upgrades, XD Games has introduced the Hyper Kernel. Think of this as your personal smart-factory and resource hub.
- Resource Production: Use the Hypercore to unlock buildings that produce Imprints, Components, and Energy Crystals.
- Expeditions: Dispatch your Animus on regional missions to bring back rare loot.
- Smart Automation: As you upgrade the system, it evolves into a fully automated factory that collects materials and supplies for you, even while you’re away.
New Faces Join the Roster
SS4 introduces five new Animus to the fray. The season kicks off with two powerhouses available now:
- Xuan Chi (SSR): A defence-scaling DPS who manipulates the Turn Meter for himself and his allies, ensuring your team always has the initiative.
- Rimeheart Dinah (SR): A dedicated Supporter who thrives on the frontline, absorbing damage for her teammates before striking back with her signature giant blade.
Coming Soon: Keep an eye out for Luvia and Qano arriving on April 30, followed by the test subject Sharon on May 21.
