There are fears that the economic recovery could be hampered due to the lack of digital skills in the workforce. As the pandemic eases and the recovery gains pace the demand for IT skills will increase and there is the possibility that those with digital skills could be tempted to leave the UK for higher-paid positions with plenty of benefits abroad.
The demand for skills in robotics, artificial intelligence and cloud computing skills are currently in high demand, unless the void can be filled with new staff some businesses may struggle for a while.
