If you’ve spent any time in the “survivor-like” trenches lately, you know the drill: walk in circles, watch numbers fly off enemies, and pray for a lucky RNG roll. But HALE Gameworks is about to kick the doors down with SLAMPUNKS, a high-octane co-op action roguelite that asks a very important question: Why just stand there when you can turn your friends into a giant, spiked wrecking ball?
Scheduled for a Q2 2026 release, SLAMPUNKS is quickly becoming the most talked-about indie title on BizNooz for one simple reason: it stops treating co-op as a “side feature” and makes it the literal engine of destruction.
Your Friends Are Your Best Weapons (Literally)
In most Horde survivors, “co-op” just means two people shooting at the same screen. In SLAMPUNKS, it’s all about Kinetic Hero Synergies. The game features a roster of weird, wonderful “punks” designed to be smashed together:
Kitsune: Uses a high-tech grapple to hook onto teammates. Once attached, you spin at terminal velocity, creating a lethal “slicing chain” that carves through the machine swarm.
Chonk: A sentient, massive goo-ball. Chonk doesn’t just walk; he steamrolls. He can pick up teammates and turn the whole squad into a massive, physics-defying wrecking ball of doom.
Frill: The tactical anchor who keeps the chaos focused while the others are literally bouncing off the walls.
Beyond the “Circle of Death”
While the genre often leans on surviving for a set timer, SLAMPUNKS introduces Randomised Heist Objectives to keep the blood pumping. You aren’t just waiting for the clock to run out; you’re on the clock to:
Sabotage: Smash massive industrial mining rigs into scrap metal.
Escort: Defend the “Silver-Sledge” payload through corridors of meat-grinder combat.
The Finale: Survive long enough to trigger a showdown with colossal, screen-filling bosses that make Vampire Survivors look like a quiet afternoon at the park.
Get Overpowered (Then Break the Game)
The progression system is where the “roguelite” teeth really show. You’ll stack Ability Augments that don’t just add +5% damage—they change how your physics work. By the end of a 20-minute run, your builds are intended to be “screen-breakingly huge.”
“We wanted to capture that feeling of a ‘broken’ build in a deckbuilder, but translated into a 3-player physics-based mosh pit,” says the development team at HALE Gameworks.
Join the Rebellion
The game is currently ramping up for its launch on PC, Mac, and consoles, with the devs actively building the community via Discord. If you’re tired of the same old “bullet heaven” loop and want something that feels more like a punk-rock riot with your best mates, keep your eyes on this one.
