  • Scrub-A-Dub-Doom: Why You’ll Want to Get Soaking Wet in ‘Sponge Break’

Scrub-A-Dub-Doom: Why You’ll Want to Get Soaking Wet in ‘Sponge Break’

Let’s face it—the kitchen sink is a terrifying place. It’s a lawless wasteland of soggy cereal, weaponised forks, and the looming threat of the garbage disposal. So, can you really blame a bunch of sponges for wanting to stage a daring prison break?

Publishers Goose Byte Games and developers Balor Games have officially revealed their newest project, and they are weirdly, wonderfully proud to introduce Sponge Break—a chaotic 1–4 player co-op rafting adventure that gives a whole new meaning to “cleaning up your act.”

    The Ultimate Kitchen Sink Escape

In Sponge Break, you and up to three of your most absorbent friends play as literal household sponges who have finally had enough of the daily grind. The goal? Escape the tyranny of the kitchen sink.

The catch? Your getaway vehicle is a makeshift raft held together by little more than hope, wishful thinking, and maybe a stray twist-tie.

What to Expect from the Mayhem:

    • Chaotic Co-op Mechanics: Whether you’re playing solo or teaming up with a full squad of four, coordination is key. And by coordination, we mean screaming at your friends while everything goes horribly wrong.
    • Physics-Based Rafting: Navigating treacherous dishwater currents while trying to keep your flimsy raft intact is no easy feat.
    • Absorbent Action: Use your spongey properties to soak up water, dodge hazardous debris, and outmanoeuvre the perils of the plumbing.

“We wanted to create something that captures the pure, unadulterated panic of trying to keep a bad idea afloat with your friends.”

Coming Clean: When Can We Play?

While the devs are keeping some of the finer details under wraps, the sheer absurdity of the premise already has us hooked. It promises the perfect blend of high-stakes teamwork and friendship-testing blunders, reminiscent of co-op hits like Overcooked and Moving Out.

If you’ve ever wanted to stick it to the human who left you sitting in a puddle of old lasagna water, this is your moment. Tie on your safety goggles, grab a dishtowel, and get ready to launch.

What do you think? Do you have what it takes to survive the plumbing, or will your team just end up totally drained? Let us know in the comments!

The Cure is Calling: Codename CURE II Drops on Steam This July!

The zombie apocalypse is getting a serious upgrade, and your squad is on the clock.

Mark your calendars for July 24, 2026. Indie publisher indie.io and developer Raptor Byte have officially announced that Codename CURE II, the highly anticipated sequel to the hit free-to-play cooperative first-person shooter, is officially launching on Steam.

Day-One Drop: The Combat Specialist Pack

Raptor Byte isn’t sending you into the horde empty-handed. Launching right alongside the free-to-play base game is the Combat Specialist Pack. While details on the exact contents are being kept under wraps, players can expect a premium haul of gear to help customise their loadouts and stand out (or blend into the shadows) while painted in zombie blood.

Mission Briefing: What You Need to Know

    • Release Date: July 24, 2026
    • Platform: PC (Steam)

  • All Aboard! The Forest Escape: Last Train Playtest is LIVE

All Aboard! The Forest Escape: Last Train Playtest is LIVE

The survival horror genre is heading to the tracks. Frag Lab LLC has officially opened the gates to its mysterious, nightmare-fueled woods with the Forest Escape: Last Train Public Playtest, launched on February 13, 2026.

Blending the tension of Escape the Backrooms with the locomotive-management of Choo-Choo Charles, this indie title is quickly becoming a “must-watch” for co-op fans.

What is Forest Escape: Last Train?

In Forest Escape: Last Train, you and up to three friends play as prison escapees trapped in a surreal, misty forest. However, this isn’t a natural landscape—it is a physical manifestation of a “crazy Warden’s” fractured mind.

Your only hope for survival is a rickety locomotive. You must maintain it, fuel it, and drive it through a series of increasingly twisted environments while being hunted by “twig creatures” and other surreal horrors.

    Core Gameplay Pillars:

    • The Locomotive Sanctuary: Your train is your mobile base. You must gather resources like coal for fuel and stone for defense. Upgrading the train is vital to surviving the deeper, more dangerous parts of the forest.
    • Surreal Puzzle Solving: The Warden’s madness translates into “eerie puzzles.” Progressing down the tracks often requires solving riddles that defy standard logic.
    • Gather & Survive: Stepping off the train is a calculated risk. Players must mine materials and trade for weapons while keeping an eye on the clock—the longer you stay outside, the higher the danger.

    Playtest Details: How to Join

The playtest is currently live on Steam and serves as a major stress test before the planned Q2 2026 release.

    FeatureDetails
    PlatformPC (Steam)
Playtest TypeLimited Public (Request access via Steam Page)
    Player Count1–4 Player Co-op
    StatusActive (Launched Feb 13, 2026)

How to get in: Visit the official Steam store page for Forest Escape: Last Train and look for the “Join the Forest Escape: Last Train Playtest” button to request access. The developers have indicated that they are regularly adding new players to monitor server stability.

    Early Impressions: “Friendslop” and Fear

The developers at Frag Lab use the term “Friendslop” to describe the game’s unique vibe—a mix of high-intensity horror and the chaotic, often hilarious “slop” that happens when friends try to coordinate under pressure.

Early feedback highlights the “abandoned theme park” level and the unsettling design of the Warden’s minions. While the game is an indie production, the atmosphere and narrative depth (exploring a broken mind) provide a fresh take on the “escape” subgenre of horror.

“It’s like Escape the Backrooms meets peak horror on a train. We aren’t trying to be a AAA title; we’re focused on the fun of co-op chaos.” — Frag Lab Dev Team
