Unlock the Magic: Digital Extremes Grants Permanent ‘Soulframe Preludes’ Access at TennoCon!

Fantasy RPG fans, your gateway to the world of Midrath has officially been blown wide open!

During its 11th annual TennoCon community event, developer Digital Extremes hosted its latest Soulframe Devstream, dropping a massive bombshell for eager players worldwide. The development team behind the highly anticipated, free-to-play fantasy action RPG revealed that the gates to Soulframe Preludes are unlocked for good.

Anyone who signs up on the official website before July 12 at 11:59 p.m. ET will secure permanent access to the game’s ongoing early testing phase.

    What is Soulframe Preludes?

For those who have been following the minds behind Warframe, Soulframe is Digital Extremes’ next big venture—trading sci-fi bullet-jumping for atmospheric, nature-heavy, and tactical melee-focused high fantasy.

Soulframe Preludes serves as the team’s version of a transparent, community-driven pre-alpha. Rather than keeping development behind closed doors, Digital Extremes is leaning heavily into its signature style: putting the rough-around-the-edges build directly into the hands of the players to iterate on combat, systems, and mechanics together.

“The closed testing we’ve been doing with our community has been so impactful; we’ve learned a ton, and we continue to listen and learn each day,” said Soulframe Creative Director, Geoff Crookes.

The Clock is Ticking: How to Lock In Your Spot

Previously, getting a Preludes key required a mix of luck and waiting on invite waves. This new window changes the game. By registering an account on the official Soulframe site prior to the July 12 midnight deadline, your account is permanently whitelisted. That means you’ll be able to jump into the action and play through every single future Preludes update as the team builds toward full launch.

If you miss the deadline, you’ll have to wait back in line for the next public phase—so if you’re looking to carve out your Envoy title early, the time to move is right now.

What Else Was Revealed at the Devstream?

Aside from the massive access announcement, the live TennoCon Devstream treated fans to a deeper dive into what makes this fantasy world tick:

    • The World of Alca: A fresh look at the game’s immersive environment, heavily influenced by themes of nature, restoration, and stripping away corruption.
    • Tactical Melee Combat: A showcase of the slower, deliberate pacing of Soulframe‘s combat compared to the frantic speed of Warframe.
    • Community Integration: Community Manager Sarah Asselin emphasised that the growing player base is the true backbone of development, promising regular Devstreams moving forward.

Head over to the official Soulframe website, reserve your Envoy name, and lock down your permanent spot in the Preludes before time runs out!

The Cure is Calling: Codename CURE II Drops on Steam This July!

The zombie apocalypse is getting a serious upgrade, and your squad is on the clock.

Mark your calendars for July 24, 2026. Indie publisher indie.io and developer Raptor Byte have officially announced that Codename CURE II, the highly anticipated sequel to the hit free-to-play cooperative first-person shooter, is officially launching on Steam.

If you thought surviving the undead was tough before, it’s time to gear up, lock in, and see if you actually have what it takes to cleanse the wasteland.

    Five Players. One Mission: Survive.

Codename CURE II throws players right into the brutal aftermath of a zombie outbreak. Unlike traditional four-player co-op shooters, this tactical nightmare ups the ante by dropping five-player squads into highly infected hot zones.

Whether you’re planting explosives to purge a nest or holding the line for a desperate extraction, success relies on one thing: absolute synergy. Going rogue isn’t just a bad idea—it’s a death sentence for your entire team.

Day-One Drop: The Combat Specialist Pack

Raptor Byte isn’t sending you into the horde empty-handed. Launching right alongside the free-to-play base game is the Combat Specialist Pack. While details on the exact contents are being kept under wraps, players can expect a premium haul of gear to help customise their loadouts and stand out (or blend into the shadows) while painted in zombie blood.

Mission Briefing: What You Need to Know

    • Title: Codename CURE II
    • Release Date: July 24, 2026
    • Platform: PC (Steam)

Why You and Your Squad Should Care

The indie co-op scene has been begging for a tactical, high-stakes shooter that focuses heavily on objective-based team play without a mandatory price tag. • Long Live the Trash King: Royal Vermin Officially Launches on Steam and Nintendo Switch

Long Live the Trash King: Royal Vermin Officially Launches on Steam and Nintendo Switch

The era of human dominance is over, and the age of the scavenger has begun. Tobafeu Studio has officially announced the global release of Royal Vermin, a chaotic, physics-driven local multiplayer brawler, now available as a free-to-play title on Steam and the Nintendo Switch eShop.

Set in a vibrant, decaying world where humanity has vanished, Royal Vermin invites players to step into the paws, wings, and claws of the world’s most resilient pests. Whether you’re a rat with a grudge or a seagull with an appetite for power, the goal is simple: survive the heap and claim the golden throne.

    Bridging the Skill Gap

The developers at Tobafeu Studio built Royal Vermin with a specific mission in mind: ending the “Pro Player” reign. We’ve all been there—a casual game night is ruined because one person has mastered the frame-perfect combos while everyone else is just trying to find the jump button.

Royal Vermin levels the playing field using:

    • Projectile-Focused Combat: Forget complex melee inputs; grab junk, charge your shots, and hurl debris to knock rivals out of the arena.
    • Unstable Environments: The arenas are literally made of trash. Levels collapse, shift, and evolve mid-match, making the environment just as dangerous as your opponents.
    • Adaptive Difficulty: Settings can be adjusted during the match to keep the tension high and the scoreboards close.

No One Truly Dies: Revenge Mode

One of the game’s standout features is the Revenge Mode. In most brawlers, being eliminated means sitting on the sidelines scrolling through your phone. In Royal Vermin, eliminated players remain in the game as ghostly influences, capable of sabotaging the leader and turning the tide of the match. It’s “communism in action,” as the devs jokingly put it—ensuring no one sits on the throne for too long without a fight.

Expand the Empire: “Beyond the Waste” DLC

While the base game is free, players looking to deepen their hoarding habits can pick up the “Beyond the Waste” DLC. This expansion pack includes:

    • 50+ New Levels: Taking the fight out of the junkyard and into even more bizarre locales.
    • 4 New Game Modes: Fresh ways to scramble for dominance.
    • Vermin Customisation: New hats and outfits to ensure your critter is the most stylish scavenger on the pile.

“We wanted to create a game where the most important thing isn’t your reflexes, but the laughter and the ‘did you see that?’ moments,” says the team at Tobafeu Studio.

    Availability

Royal Vermin is available now for Free on:

PC (Steam): Supporting Windows, macOS, and Linux (with Steam Remote Play Together support).

Nintendo Switch: Perfect for portable couch co-op mayhem.
