Deep Silver and KING Art Games have officially unveiled the third entry in their four-part CGI narrative series for the highly anticipated real-time strategy title, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV. This latest cinematic focuses on one of the franchise’s most chilling factions: the immortal, living-metal nightmare known as the Necrons.

A 60-Million-Year Slumber Comes to an End

Having traded their biological bodies for eternal mechanical supremacy—paying with their very souls in the process—the Necrons have rested beneath the surface of Kronus for millions of years. Now, as “lesser species” wage chaotic war across the planet’s surface, the ancient tomb world is stirring awake.

The cinematic chapter centres on Thothmek, a formidable Necron Chronomancer of the Szerkhan Dynasty. From orbit, Thothmek looks down upon the bloody clash between Space Marines and Orks with cold, mechanical disdain. Mourning the desecration of his dynasty’s ancient, sacred tombs during their long sleep, he decides it is time to reclaim what was once theirs.

Mechanical Terror Unleashed

The trailer showcases a dramatic escalation of Necron power as haunting mechanical chants resonate across space. Viewers get a terrifying look at the awakening legion, including:

• Ranks of unyielding Necron Warriors rising in unison
• Towering Triarch Stalkers
• Swarming clouds of Canoptek Scarabs
• Imposing, deadly Lych Guards

Written by acclaimed Black Library author John French, Dawn of War IV brings the franchise back to its mass-battle, base-building roots while introducing updated systems like the expanded “Sync Kill” mechanics and dynamic campaign choices.
