Card game enthusiasts and indie aficionados, mark your calendars! Brazilian indie developer Soneka Games and publisher Vsoo Games have officially announced that their upcoming title, Dreamcards, will officially launch for PC via Steam on August 19, 2026.
If you’re a fan of roguelike deckbuilders with deep strategy, surreal psychological narratives, and striking hand-drawn art styles, this is one upcoming release you’ll definitely want to keep on your radar.
What is Dreamcards?
Dreamcards takes players inside the recurring dreams and subconscious mind of its protagonist, known simply as “The Self.” Rather than standard fantasy monsters or sci-fi spells, every card in your deck represents real-life actions, daily interactions, and characters from the protagonist’s waking world.
When night falls, these everyday occurrences transform into a surreal narrative, merging into surprising combos and strange interactions as you confront the monsters lurking within your mind.
Key Features to Expect
- Day & Night Mechanics: Build your deck during the day through choices and interactions, then take those cards into battle against nightmare entities at night.
- Dual Action/Buy Phases: Accumulate Imagination Points during the action phase to power up your deck, then gather Conscience Points in the buy phase to reach a lucid dream state and overpower the nightmare over seven consecutive nights.
- Deep Strategic Variety: Choose from over 100 unique cards split across 6 distinct strategies that can be mixed and matched to create unpredictable, game-winning synergies.
- Hand-Drawn Aesthetic: Dive into a dark, esoteric world filled with hand-drawn art, visually crafted to feel as though the protagonist created the cards themselves.
- Uncover Dark Mysteries: Unlock over 80 dark memories linked to individual cards, piecing together the story behind the recurring nightmares as you progress through each run.
Ready to Enter the Dream?
With its unique split-phase gameplay and atmospheric psychological premise, Dreamcards promises a fresh twist on the roguelike deckbuilder genre.
Head over to Steam today to check out the official demo, test your strategy, and add Dreamcards to your wishlist before it officially releases on August 19, 2026!
