The gaming world is vast and ever-expanding, but every so often, a title emerges that truly captures the imagination, weaving itself into the fabric of our gaming memories. Today, we’re going to talk about one such gem: Knitewings.
From its enchanting visuals to its surprisingly deep lore, Knitewings has been quietly building a devoted fanbase, and it’s not hard to see why. Let’s unfurl its magic together.
A World Woven with Wonder
The first thing that strikes you about Knitewings is its undeniable aesthetic. Imagine a world crafted from threads of moonlight and stardust, where landscapes are intricate tapestries and creatures seem to have sprung from a fantastical loom.
This unique visual style isn’t just a gimmick; it’s intrinsically linked to the game’s narrative and mechanics. You play as a “Kniteweaver,” a guardian capable of mending the tears in this woven world, literally patching up the fabric of reality with your abilities.
Gameplay: More Than Just Pretty Pictures
While the visuals draw you in, the gameplay is what keeps you hooked. Knitewings masterfully blends elements of exploration, puzzle-solving, and a surprisingly engaging combat system. Your primary tool is your “Needle of Fate,” which can be imbued with different colored threads, each granting unique abilities.
Exploration: The world of Aerthos (as it’s called) is a joy to explore. Hidden pathways, secret glades, and towering, knitted mountains beckon the curious. Discovering a new thread colour or an ancient pattern feels genuinely rewarding.
Puzzles: Many challenges revolve around using the correct thread combination to activate ancient looms, repair broken bridges, or unravel tangled magical knots. These puzzles are clever and often require a bit of creative thinking.
Combat: Combat is surprisingly fluid and tactical. Enemies, often corrupted “Snarls” or “Fraybeasts,” have weaknesses to specific thread types. You’ll need to strategically switch between your threads to exploit these vulnerabilities, dodging and weaving (pun intended!) your way to victory.
The Heart of the Story
At its core, Knitewings tells a tale of creation, decay, and the enduring power of artistry. The world is slowly unraveling, threatened by a mysterious force known as the “Great Untangler.” As a Kniteweaver, you embark on a quest to gather the lost “Songs of Creation” – powerful ancient patterns that can mend the world and restore balance.
Along the way, you’ll encounter a cast of memorable characters, from wise elder Kniteweavers to mischievous “Threadlings” who offer hints and humour. The narrative is rich with metaphor, exploring themes of preservation, legacy, and the interconnectedness of all things.
Why You Should Play Knitewings
Knitewings is more than just a game; it’s an experience. It’s a game that encourages you to slow down, appreciate its beauty, and engage with its thoughtful design. If you’re looking for something that offers:
A truly unique and breathtaking art style.
Engaging gameplay that blends exploration, puzzles, and tactical combat.
A captivating story with surprising depth.
Then you owe it to yourself to dive into the magical world of Knitewings. It’s a journey that will mend your spirit and leave you with a newfound appreciation for the art of creation.

The creators of SOMA and Amnesia are back, and they’ve got their sights set on nothing less than the very nature of existence. Revealed at The Game Awards 2025, ONTOS is the next mind-bending sci-fi mystery thriller from the masters of existential dread, Frictional Games. Forget jump scares; prepare for a cerebral gut-punch that will leave you questioning everything.
Here’s why ONTOS is shaping up to be one of the most essential games of 2026.
🌙 A Labyrinth on the Moon: Welcome to Samsara
ONTOS sets its stage in one of the most intriguing environments we’ve seen in years: Samsara, a massive, repurposed luxury hotel on the moon. Built atop the ruins of an old mining colony, Samsara is described as an interconnected labyrinth—a place where opulence meets decay, and science bleeds into faith.
You play as Aditi Amani, an engineer drawn to the station by a cryptic message from her estranged father, a brilliant mind-turned-prophet. What starts as a search for family quickly spirals into a confrontation with “instabilities in reality” that plague the lunar hotel.
Key Setting: The repurposing of Samsara means you’ll explore surreal spaces—labs set up in lavish casinos, experiments in emptied pools, and strange machinery built into ancient moon caves. Every corner is a narrative clue waiting to be discovered.
🤔 The Core Question: What is Reality?
Where Frictional Games’ previous sci-fi hit, SOMA, masterfully explored the nature of consciousness and identity, ONTOS aims to push the philosophical envelope further, tackling the very fabric of reality itself.
The core gameplay revolves around unsettling, morally complex “Experiments.” These are not traditional puzzles; they are provocations that force Aditi—and the player—to face existential dilemmas.
Non-Linear Problem Solving: There is no single ‘correct’ solution. You must use your wits, scavenge materials, and interact with intricate, tactile machinery to proceed. Your actions and moral choices echo forward, shaping the narrative and its consequences.
A New Kind of Tension: Creative Director Thomas Grip has clarified that ONTOS is “not really a horror game in a traditional sense.” The tension is primarily cerebral and personal, focusing on the anxiety of making the “right” decision and the disturbing consequences when you get it wrong, rather than constant monster chases.
⭐ Star Power and Next-Gen Ambition
ONTOS isn’t just a passion project; it’s a major production.
Stellan Skarsgård: The game features the acclaimed, Golden Globe-winning actor Stellan Skarsgård in its cast, lending a gravity and prestige to the narrative that few indie thrillers can match. His presence hints at the quality and depth of the game’s troubled and intriguing cast of characters.
HPL4 Engine: The game is being built on Frictional’s brand new, proprietary HPL4 engine. This allows for the vast, interconnected world of Samsara to feel truly seamless and densely detailed. The ambition is high: if you can see it from a window, you can go there.
🗓️ Countdown to Existential Crisis
ONTOS is developed by Frictional Games and published by Kepler Interactive, with a planned launch in 2026 for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
If you are a fan of high-concept science fiction, games that challenge your morality, or the studio’s previous work on titles like SOMA, this is one trip to the moon you absolutely must book. It’s set to be a title that the gaming community will be debating for years.
Get ready to stretch your mental muscles, puzzle fans! The long-awaited next game from legendary designer Jonathan Blow (creator of Braid and The Witness), Order of the Sinking Star, has been officially unveiled, and it promises to be a truly massive, mind-bending experience.
If you thought The Witness was a challenge, think again. This ambitious new title is setting a new standard for the narrative puzzle adventure genre.
🧩 The Premise: Four Worlds Collide
Order of the Sinking Star is a top-down, narrative adventure that begins with Queen Effia, a deposed ruler who is suddenly transported to a magical, enigmatic new realm. What follows is an exploration of a sprawling, non-linear game world built around an unprecedented number of intricate, hand-crafted puzzles.
Four Distinct Realms: The game is structured around four initial worlds, each based on a different core puzzle mechanic (often likened to a sophisticated form of Sokoban or block-pushing puzzles):
The North: Features a party of heroes (a warrior, thief, and wizard) with complementary abilities for manipulating objects.
The East: Focuses on puzzles involving mirrors, reflections, and teleportation/duplication mechanics.
The South: Involves skipping stones across water to create new paths.
The West: Puts you in command of a mechanical suit with crystal-light-based powers.
The Supercollider Effect: The true genius and difficulty of the game emerge when these four worlds begin to collide! As you progress into the overworld’s diagonal areas, the mechanics and characters from different realms merge, creating puzzles that require an understanding of two, three, or even all four systems simultaneously.
🦸 Unlikely Heroes and a Grand Mystery
You won’t be solving this mystery alone. The game features multiple unique playable characters, each with their own captivating story and abilities, including Queen Effia, a thief, a warrior, a wizard, and even, hilariously, a talking boat.
Character-Specific Solutions: Each hero brings a different perspective and set of tools. For example, the thief can pull blocks, breaking the classic Sokoban rule, while the wizard can swap places with objects. Learning to utilise and switch between these abilities is key, particularly in the later-game cross-over puzzles.
Deciphering the Lore: The story unfolds gradually. Rather than relying on heavy exposition, the narrative is told through environmental storytelling, notes you collect, and small interactions between the characters as they meet and journey together. The ultimate goal is to piece together the secrets of this enigmatic realm and the true nature of the “Order of the Sinking Star.”
🤯 A Scope Unlike Any Other
The sheer scale of this project is what truly sets it apart.

For years, strategy game enthusiasts and Warhammer 40,000 fanatics have shared a silent, fervent wish: a Total War game set in the grimdark future of the 41st millennium. Imagine the strategic depth, the massive battles, and the sheer spectacle of Games Workshop’s iconic universe brought to life with Creative Assembly’s unparalleled Total War engine. While Total War: Warhammer has delivered on the fantasy side, the sci-fi realm of 40k offers a unique and tantalising prospect.
Why Total War: Warhammer 40,000 is a Must-Have
The Warhammer 40,000 universe is a treasure trove of lore, diverse factions, and epic conflicts, all perfectly suited for the Total War treatment.
Factions Galore: From the stalwart Space Marines and the disciplined Astra Militarum to the ravenous Tyranids, the ancient Aeldari, the destructive Orks, and the insidious Chaos forces, 40k boasts a roster of factions, each with unique playstyles, units, and tactical considerations. Imagine leading a phalanx of Imperial Guardsmen supported by Leman Russ battle tanks against a horde of greenskins, or orchestrating a lightning-fast assault with jetbikes and wraithlords. Each faction presents an entirely new strategic puzzle.
Strategic Depth: The 40k universe is defined by galaxy-spanning wars. A campaign map stretching across star systems, with players managing resources, researching technologies (like new weapon systems or psychic powers), and navigating diplomatic (or more likely, hostile) relations between factions, would be an absolute dream. Imagine launching orbital bombardments, deploying drop pods, or even orchestrating warp incursions.
Epic Battles: Total War’s real-time battles are its bread and butter, and 40k provides the perfect canvas for truly cinematic engagements. Imagine hundreds of models clashing on screen: Bolter fire tearing through infantry, Leman Russ tanks exchanging volleys with Ork Killa Kans, and powerful psykers unleashing devastating psychic assaults. The sheer scale and visual fidelity would be breathtaking.
What We’d Love to See
For a Total War: Warhammer 40,000 game to truly shine, a few key elements would be crucial:
Diverse Battlefield Environments: From desolate desert planets and war-torn hive cities to verdant alien worlds and the claustrophobic interiors of space hulks, the variety of battlefields in 40k would be immense.
Hero Units with Real Impact: Chapter Masters, Warbosses, Farseers, and Daemon Princes aren’t just powerful individuals; they can turn the tide of battle. Implementing their unique abilities and aura effects in a meaningful way would be essential.

The gaming world is abuzz, and for good reason. A new challenger has entered the arena, promising a unique blend of fast-paced combat, stunning visuals, and a truly intriguing premise. We’re talking about Phantom Blade Zero, and if you haven’t heard of it yet, prepare to be captivated.
From the moment the first trailer dropped, Phantom Blade Zero has been turning heads. It’s a game that instantly evokes a sense of style and aggression, marrying the punishing difficulty of a Soulslike with the breathtaking acrobatics and martial artistry of Wuxia cinema. This isn’t just another action RPG; it’s a meticulously crafted experience that seems poised to carve its own niche in the gaming landscape.
A World Steeped in “Kungfupunk”
Phantom Blade Zero introduces us to a world defined by what its creators call “Kungfupunk.” Imagine ancient martial arts traditions colliding with a dark, almost gothic, steam-powered aesthetic. This isn’t your typical fantastical realm; it’s a gritty, rain-slicked world where power is sought, and secrets are buried deep. The visual design alone is a character in itself, promising a journey through desolate landscapes, intricate temples, and shadowy industrial complexes.
What sets this aesthetic apart is its commitment to detail. Every character design, every environmental element, every weapon seems to tell a story. It’s a world that feels lived-in, dangerous, and incredibly inviting for those who enjoy uncovering lore through visual cues.
The Art of Combat: Precision and Fluidity
At the heart of Phantom Blade Zero lies its combat system, and from what we’ve seen, it’s nothing short of exhilarating. This is not a button-mashing affair. Think Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice meets Devil May Cry, with a dash of classic Wuxia films thrown in for good measure.
Players will step into the shoes of Soul, an elite assassin framed for the murder of the Patriarch. With only 66 days left to live due to a devastating curse, Soul must clear his name and unravel a vast conspiracy. This urgency fuels the gameplay, demanding mastery and precision.
Combat appears to be a ballet of parries, dodges, and lightning-fast attacks. Enemy encounters are designed to be challenging, requiring players to learn patterns, exploit weaknesses, and execute flawless combinations. The animations are incredibly fluid, making every sword swing, every acrobatic leap, feel impactful and visceral. It’s a combat system that promises high stakes and immense satisfaction with every hard-won victory.
Gotham is getting a massive brick-built makeover! The announcement of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has sent ripples of excitement through the DC and LEGO gaming communities. Developed by Traveller’s Tales (the studio behind the stellar LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga), this isn’t just another LEGO game—it’s an epic, open-world love letter to the Caped Crusader’s entire 86-year history.
So, grab your Batarang and strap into your Batmobile; let’s break down what we know about this highly anticipated title!
🌃 Gotham is Your Open-World Playground
A major highlight of Legacy of the Dark Knight is the fully explorable, open-world Gotham City. Moving beyond the separate levels of previous entries, TT Games is inviting players to grapple, glide, and drive across an immersive city teeming with secrets, challenges, and crimes to stop.
Iconic Locations: Expect to see legendary spots like Arkham Asylum, Ace Chemicals, and Wayne Tower, all rendered beautifully in LEGO bricks.
Arkham-Inspired Traversal: Early impressions suggest that gliding and movement mechanics have taken cues from the acclaimed Batman: Arkham series, allowing for fast, fluid navigation over Gotham’s rooftops.
This vast, evolving open world promises a true feeling of being Batman, patrolling the streets and tackling threats wherever they arise.
⚔️ Combat That Packs a Punch (Made of Plastic)
One of the most significant changes is the introduction of a dynamic new combat system. The developers have aimed for an authentic expression of Batman’s fighting style, incorporating:
Fluid Attack Chains and Combos: Moving away from the simpler smash-and-collect style, combat now features more depth, allowing for satisfying attack chains and over-the-top takedowns.
Gadget-Based Fighting: Batman’s signature gear, like the Batclaw and Batarangs, is fully integrated into combat and puzzle-solving.
Arkham Homage: Many players who got an early look at the game have noted that the combat feels like a simplified, charming, LEGO version of the ArkhamFreeFlow combat system, which is music to any Batman fan’s ears.
For players looking for a true challenge, the game even features a demanding Dark Knight Mode difficulty setting!
📜 The Essential Batman Story: From Origin to Legend
The narrative itself is ambitious, covering Bruce Wayne’s entire journey to becoming the Dark Knight. It’s an original, story-led campaign that weaves together iconic moments from decades of Batman films, comics, TV, and games.
The Origin Story: The adventure begins with a young Bruce Wayne’s training with the League of Shadows.
Forging the Bat-Family: As the story progresses, Batman builds his inner circle of allies, including confirmed playable characters like Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, Jim Gordon, and Talia al Ghul.
The Rogues Gallery: You’ll face an “ever-growing threat” from Gotham’s most infamous DC Super-Villains, including The Joker, The Penguin, Mr Freeze, Poison Ivy, Ra’s al Ghul, and Bane.
The game is confirmed to include 100 Suits & Outfits and over 20 Batmobiles and Batcycles, allowing fans to truly customize their experience and celebrate every era of the hero.
🗓️ Get Ready to Suit Up
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is scheduled for release on May 29, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version to follow.
This looks set to be a monumental title—not just for LEGO fans, but for anyone who has ever dreamed of being the World’s Greatest Detective. Traveller’s Tales is pulling out all the stops to deliver a definitive, fun, and action-packed celebration of all things Batman.

The lights flicker, the familiar hum of the Orbiter fills the void, and then, a voice, sometimes comforting, sometimes urgent, cuts through the silence: “Wake up, Tenno.”
For millions of players, this phrase isn’t just a line of dialogue; it’s the alarm clock of the universe, the initiation rite, and the persistent, thrilling invitation to dive back into Warframe.
Digital Extremes’ free-to-play sci-fi epic has defied conventional wisdom, evolving from a niche title into a sprawling, lore-rich universe. But what keeps bringing the space-ninjas—the Tenno—back to the fight?
🌌 A Universe Built on Evolution
Warframe‘s success lies in its relentless, player-focused development cycle. Unlike many games that release a sequel, Warframe consistently reinvents itself through massive, free expansions.
The Power Fantasy: At its core, Warframe delivers an unmatched power fantasy. Leaping through maps at breakneck speeds, chaining together devastating melee combos, and unleashing unique Warframe abilities make every mission a ballet of destruction.
The Grind is the Game: While often cited as a deterrent, the “grind” is, for many, the addictive loop. Earning a new Warframe, painstakingly collecting the components, and finally levelling it up to unleash its full potential is a deeply satisfying journey of investment.
Constant Refresh: From the introduction of the first Open World zone (The Plains of Eidolon) to the cinematic masterpiece of the major questlines (like The Second Dream and The War Within), the landscape is constantly shifting, ensuring veteran players always have a new challenge or mystery to pursue.
🤖 The True Meaning of the Call
The phrase “Wake up, Tenno” carries a dual meaning within the game’s narrative:
The Literal Awakening: It refers to the Tenno emerging from cryosleep after the collapse of the Old War, initially guided by the enigmatic Lotus. You are a newly awakened warrior, tasked with restoring balance.
The Narrative Revelation: As the story deepens, this phrase takes on a more profound, existential weight. It’s an invitation to understand your true nature, the history of the Orokin Empire, and the cost of the power you wield. The quests aren’t just missions; they are lore drops that redefine the player’s identity within the Origin System.
💖 Community: The Engine That Never Stops
Perhaps the most crucial component of Warframe‘s longevity is its incredible community. Known for its helpfulness, the community embodies the spirit of cooperation over competition.
Trading: The player-driven economy for Prime parts and Mods fosters interaction and teamwork.
Dojo Culture: The intricate, sometimes baffling, but always impressive Clan Dojos showcase player creativity and collective effort.
Devstream Connection: Digital Extremes maintains a rare level of transparency and direct communication with its players via regular Devstreams, making the community feel like true partners in the game’s development.
⚡ Are You Ready to Re-Enter the Fight?
If you’ve been away for six months, a year, or even longer, now is always a good time to log back in. The sheer volume of new content can be daunting, but the core mechanics—the movement, the shooting, the fun—are still there, just bigger and better.
Whether you’re crafting the newest Prime Warframe, exploring the depths of the latest Open World, or finally tackling that major cinematic quest you missed, that simple, iconic phrase is waiting for you.
So, power up your Archwing, sharpen your Nikana, and prepare for the next deployment.
“Wake up, Tenno. The Origin System needs you.”
